Appointment Length
This appointment is a twelve month research appointment, with the possibility to be renewed for additional research periods. Appointments may be extended depending on funding availability, project assignment, program rules, and availability of the participant.

Nature of Appointment
The participant will not enter into an employee/employer relationship with ORISE, ORAU, DOD, or any other office or agency. Instead, the participant will be affiliated with ORISE for the administration of the appointment through the ORISE appointment letter and Terms of Appointment.
*Required: US licensed physician with eligibility to practice in the State of Maryland
*Required: Candidate must have had at least 1 year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting, i.e., a 1-year internship or the first year of a residency program in a hospital or an institution accredited for such training.
*Required: A minimum of one year of research experience in the field of infectious diseases. This period can include the completion of an MPH, PhD or the research requirements of a clinical residency/fellowship program.
*Desirable: Research experience in the field of viral pathogens, including clinical microbiology, epidemiology and/or clinical trial studies. This period can include the completion of an MPH, PhD, or the research requirements of a clinical residency/fellowship program.
*Desirable: Board certification in internal medicine, infectious diseases or preventive medicine
