• Gain proficiency in surgical procedures, anatomy, physiology, and operative techniques.
• Assist in the submission of IACUC protocols for the investigation and evaluation of novel Biostasis drugs in swine models of traumatic injury.
• Oversee surgical preparation, animal and equipment maintenance, and quality control analysis of reagents.
• Provided support in writing hypothesis-driven research proposals, preclinical protocols, technical reports, final reports, research grants and peer-reviewed manuscripts.
• Work collaboratively across lab functions and train other junior lab staff as needed.
• Develop new protocols and experimental methods for advanced lab equipment.
• Collect, prepare, and analyze research data with graphing software such as GraphPad Prism and Sigma Plot; keep a detailed notebook summarizing experiments and recording research data; maintain computer database of research data.

Where will I be located?

59th Medical Wing/Science & Technology office at JBSA-Lackland AFB.

What is the appointment length?

This appointment is a twelve month research appointment, with the possibility to be renewed for additional research periods. Appointments may be extended depending on funding availability, project assignment, program rules, and availability of the participant.

What are the benefits?
