Click on Apply at the bottom of the opportunity to start your application.
The Research and Operations Directorate at the DEVCOM Chemical Biological Center (CBC) is offering a 10-week faculty summer fellowship at the facility at the Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland.
What will I be doing?
As an ORISE participant, you will join a community of scientists and researchers in an effort to gain insight into designing experiments and data generation and management principles.
Why should I apply?
Under the guidance of a mentor and as a summer fellow participating in the Research and Operations Directorate, you will have the opportunity to engage with the DEVCOM CBC researchers to understand how design of experiments, learn robust data generation and management principles, and gain further understanding in how AI/ML can be applied to programs and generate better, more robust results. You will collaborate with teams on proper application of principles, use of relevant software and models, and assist with the design of experiments. In addition, you will have the opportunity to expand your learning across multiple discipline areas, including but not limited to engineering and prototyping, respiratory protection, materials science and engineering, and biological sciences. This experience will allow you to broaden your awareness of an experience with many different problem sets across several areas in the chemical and biological assessment and protection space.
Where will I be located?
Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland
What is the anticipated start date?
The preferred start date is May 15, 2024; however, exact start dates will be determined at the time of selection and in coordination with the selected candidate. Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis and internships or fellowships will be filled as qualified candidates are identified.
