A complete application consists of: An online application form from the student’s Zintellect account.

*IMPORTANT NOTE: On the question asking about your degree, it is assumed a middle school student is pursuing a high school diploma. Please enter the following on the indicated questions*

  • Education Status - enter "In Progress" 
  • Degree - enter "High School Diploma/GED"
  • Institution - enter your current school name without any abbreviations
  • Dates - enter the approximate dates you began and will finish at your current school
  • GPA - enter your current GPA

Description

The ORISE Boe Bots Mini-Academy is a five-day program for rising 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students filled with exciting and challenging activities. Working in small teams, students will design, build, and program a robot. This is an introductory program, and no prior experience is needed.

Each day from June 9-13, 2025, students will report to the ORAU classroom at ORAU in Oak Ridge. Drop off is at 8:30am and pick up is at 3:30pm. Students should bring a sack lunch.

Qualifications

Participants must be willing to participate all five days of the program and must be a rising 7th, 8th, or 9th grade student at the time of the program.  (This is the grade level the student will be during the 2025-2026 school year).
