Description

The research in this lab is mostly experimental though theoretical modeling is also encouraged.   The candidate will have access to unique experimental technology to conduct a range of experimental scenarios including varying temperature, pressure, chemistry, and analytical methods. Research can entail the development of instrumentation or scientific investigations for a variety of hot environments. The primary focus for this research is to simulate the conditions of hot environments to study the atmospheric chemistry, cloud formation, and planetary evolution of exoplanets. Our goal is to provide inputs for theoretical models and verification data for observations of exoplanet atmospheres.
