Description

We seek researchers who are interested in studying planetary surface processes through comparative planetology and terrestrial analog fieldwork. Impact cratering and volcanic processes play a dominant role in in shaping the Earth, the Moon, and Mars. Our team conducts fieldwork in planetary analog locations in order to investigate and explore these processes with remote sensing, sample collection and follow-up laboratory analysis, and/or in situ instrument deployment and data analysis. We seek proposed research in investigating impact cratering and/or comparative studies between impact and volcanic processes and deposits, enabling collaboration with our broader research group. We also seek investigations on the incorporation of science priorities, field science principles, and field portable scientific instrumentation into operations concepts and technology development for future planetary surface exploration.
