Space Geodesy
The Space Geodesy Project (SGP) operates and develops the systems for NASA’s Space Geodetic Network, including: Satellite Laser Ranging (SLR), Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI), and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) stations. The integrated geodetic site at Goddard's Geophysical and Astronomical Observatory (GGAO) is a key component of the research and development effort. Research opportunities include technology development for the next generation systems, lunar laser ranging, science applications of the ground network, geodetic data analysis, and development of algorithms for geodetic analysis tools.
