Aerosol Effects in Climate Change and Air Quality through Global/Regional Modeling Studies and Data Analysis
This project involves modeling and analysis of aerosol effects on climate and air quality with global and regional focuses. Regions of interests include North America, Europe, East Asia, South Asia, and the Arctic. Specific research areas include (1) simulating global aerosol distributions with the GSFC global/regional modeling system;
(2) using the models to analyze satellite/ground-based/aircraft measurements; (3) addressing model uncertainties and improvements; (4) assessing the effects of anthropogenic and natural sources, transport, and physical/chemical/optical processes on atmospheric aerosol distributions; (5) estimating the aerosol impacts on Ā on weather, climate, and regional air quality.
