Heliophysics Science: Geospace Plasma Modeling
The research areas include: analysis of hot plasma interactions with the thermal space plasma with special emphasis on hot plasma instabilities, investigation of current-produced magnetic field effects on current collection by a tether system, space plasma energization and transport, kinetic theory of superthermal electrons in the ionosphere and plasmasphere, hydrodynamic and kinetic theory of space plasma in the presence of wave activity, theoretical investigation and numerical modeling of ionosphere-plasmasphere interactions, theoretical study of artificial injection of charged and neutral particles into the ionosphere, and waves and beam-induced plasma instabilities in the ionosphere.
