Solar System Exploration: Theoretical Modeling of Photochemistry and Haze Formation in Planetary Atmospheres

Organization
National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)
Reference Code
0082-NPP-NOV23-GSFC-PlanetSci
Application Deadline
11/1/2023 6:00:59 PM Eastern Time Zone
Description
Theoretical investigations of atmospheric photochemistry and subsequent haze formation are conducted within the framework of data obtained from the Voyager and Cassini missions to the outer planets, and from ground-based and airborne instrumentation. Specific interest areas include identification of key reaction pathways for potential laboratory studies, derivation of dynamical parameters, and haze/cloud formation and evolution. Comparative studies are also of interest, since a wide range of atmospheric parameters is covered in observations of the planets.
