About the NASA Postdoctoral Program

The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) offers unique research opportunities to highly-talented U.S. and non-U.S. scientists to engage in ongoing NASA research projects at a NASA Center, NASA Headquarters, or at a NASA-affiliated research institute. These one- to three-year fellowships are competitive and are designed to advance NASA’s missions in space science, Earth science, aeronautics, space operations, exploration systems, and astrobiology.

Description:

The new field of Astrobiology hopes to apply expertise from diverse fields to questions of the origin, evolution, and ecology of life through the universe. Our laboratory is particularly interested in applicants who wish to apply technical and theoretical skills to questions of microbial evolution. Of particular interest is questions relating to the role of the environment in evolution, including the evolution of organisms that are at the environmental limits for life, ""extremophiles"".
