About the NASA Postdoctoral Program
The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) offers unique research opportunities to highly-talented scientists to engage in ongoing NASA research projects at a NASA Center, NASA Headquarters, or at a NASA-affiliated research institute. These one- to three-year fellowships are competitive and are designed to advance NASA’s missions in space science, Earth science, aeronautics, space operations, exploration systems, and astrobiology.
Description:
The Consortium on Habitability and Atmospheres of M-dwarf Planets (CHAMPs) is an interdisciplinary research team whose goal is to address the broad science question: “Can M-dwarf planets support life, and if so, how do we best observe and characterize them?” Our team consists of two dozen scientists of all career levels and with expertise in modeling, observations, and data analyses. We are interested in self-motivated applicants with the capacity for interdisciplinary research, a background in modeling/observations, and an interest in applying these skills to questions that lie at the intersection of planetary atmospheres and astrobiology. For more information see http://champs.jhuapl.edu/
Applicants who apply for this research opportunity and are subsequently selected for an NPP award are expected to attend the Astrobiology Graduate Conference (AbGradCon) and/or the Astrobiology Science Conference (AbSciCon) using the travel funds that are conferred as part of the NPP award.
